Vacation home "Il Visciolo" is set in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, a Tuscan rural town few miles away from the city of Florence, on top of a hill dominating a Tuscan landscape. San Casciano in Val di Pesa is part of the Florentine Chianti. Chianti is a particular region of Tuscany, mostly devoted to the production of excellent wines and extra virgin olive oil. We produce a few extra virgin olive oil ourselves, for our family needs and our friends.

The house was previously a barn, its conversion ended in 2006 and since then we let it as a vacation home for tourists with all the necessary appliances for living. Broadband Internet access is included in the rental price. A car is not required, the bus terminal is 650 metres from the property. If you come with a car, two parking spaces are reserved for you in the parking lot inside the property. Reaching Florence center by coach takes 22 or 35 minutes (depending on where you get off) a one way ticket costs 3,50 euro; about the same time is necessary by car, not including parking time and its costs, that's why getting there by coach is usually advised.

The vacation home faces a garden with olive and fruit threes, with views of Chianti valleys. The garden is shared with the owners, who live in a close farmhouse, a few meters away. On the back sits the village with its houses. Good restaurants and shops are a five minutes' walk from the barn, San Casciano in Val di Pesa centre being at the end of the road (350 metres). A big COOP supermarket is 700 metres away, it's very easy to reach on foot.

We (wife and husband) live in the same property and we will be at your disposal if you need advice about places in Tuscany or anything else concerning your stay here.

Please note that Il Visciolo is given as a self-catering accommodation, that means it's a furnished house with appliances, bedding and linen but no food or service are provided.

Not suitable for children between one-and-half and 6 years old and people with restricted mobility. No pets allowed, sorry.
